QB: Shane Buechele, SMU (Arlington Lamar)

Buechele had the best day of his career, throwing for 457 yards and six touchdowns in a tremendous performance against a borderline top 25 Temple squad. The performance was the fourth-best passing performance in program history. 

RB: JaMycal Hasty, Baylor (Longview)

Hasty had the best performance of his career in one of the best road environments in the Big 12, rushing for 146 yards and two touchdowns, catching three passes for 66 yards and averaging 11.2 yards per touch in a critical performance against Oklahoma State. 

WR: Reggie Roberson, SMU (Mesquite Horn)

Roberson was completely unguardable against Temple. The Mesquite Horn product caught eight passes for 250 yards, including touchdowns of 75, 60 and 33 yards in a 45-21 win over a salty defense-first Temple squad. 

OL: Texas

There weren’t many bright spots during Texas’ narrow win over Kansas, but the offensive line had a much better performance than last week against Oklahoma. The Longhorns held KU to three sacks on 85 plays and led the way in a 6.0 yards per carry day. 

UT: Aston Walter, Rice (Crosby)

Walter continues to be a consistent rusher for the Owls, accumulating 109 yards and a touchdown on 6.1 yards per carry. The rest of the roster combined for just 2.2 yards per carry. 

DL: Jaylon Haynes, UTSA (Wharton)

In the Roadrunners’ third win of the year, Haynes was disruptive from the defensive tackle spot. He broke through for three tackles for loss, recovered a fumble and broke up a pass in a tight win over Rice. 

LB: Terrel Bernard, Baylor (La Porte)

Bernard stepped into a starring role in Clay Johnston’s absence, leading the way with nine tackles, half a tackle for loss and a 20-yard fumble return for a touchdown that completely changed the complexion of the game in Stillwater. 

DB: Patrick Nelson, SMU

Nelson has been SMU’s most impactful defender this season and that continued against Temple. The senior posted seven tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and two sacks to help keep the Owls’ offense under control. 

UT: Jordyn Brooks, Texas Tech (Houston Stratford)

It doesn’t matter who Brooks is playing, he’s going to make big plays. Brooks led the way with 10 tackles, two tackles for loss and two quarterback hurries against Iowa State. He helped lead a second half resurgence that was almost enough to win the game. 

ST: Ethan Mooney, North Texas (Mansfield Timberview)

Kicker was a question coming into the year, but Mooney was huge in a 33-30 win over Middle Tennessee. The sophomore nailed all four of his field goals, including a 22-yarder as time expired, to help lift the Mean Green to a much-needed win.
