Godley 2021 WR Brenen Hawkins (6'3, 185) is a prospect to keep a close eye on.
He has already picked up scholarship offers from schools like Illinois State, Kansas and Texas Tech.
"I have just been focused on working hard and trying to make it for my family," Hawkins said. "All glory to God for these offers. It means a lot because I was a nobody, nobody had seen me, and now I know that all of the hard work is paying off. So it just means a lot. I just got to keep working hard and keep working on my skills."
This season Hawkins is credited with 31 receptions for 589 yards and eight touchdowns in five games.
"My fades and top routes and just to high-point the ball and the jump ball is my specialty right there," Hawkins answered when asked about his strengths as a college prospect.
Hawkins has helped to lead Godley to a 5-1 start in 4A-DII, and he enjoys putting on a show for the Wildcats fans.
"It's small, it's a small place, but they all (Godley community) show love, and we train really hard for this," Hawkins explained about his team and the culture surrounding it.
"We are the underdogs right now, and we are coming."
Hawkins reports that TCU is showing strong early interest, but the Horned Frogs have yet to extend an offer.
