QB: Kellen Mond, Texas A&M

Even though the Aggies offense wasn’t great against Alabama, Mond did everything in his power to try and change their fortunes. He was the catalyst behind the game-opening touchdown drive, and personally scored all three Aggie touchdowns on the day.

RB: SaRodorick Thompson, Texas Tech (Irving Ranchview)

Thompson had a career day against a salty Baylor defense, breaking free for 153 yards and two touchdowns on 28 carries. If not from some bad breaks, Thompson might have been the headliner of the whole day.

WR: Jaelon Darden, North Texas (Houston Eisenhower)

On a day where UNT struggled to score, Darden lived up to his billing as the No. 1 receiver. He caught a 53-yard touchdown pass to break free and give the Mean Green a 14-13 lead. Later, he added another TD to cut the lead to 21-20, and added a late touchdown too for three on the day.

OL: n/a

There wasn’t an offensive line this week that put together an exceptional performance.

UT: Marquez Stevenson, Houston

Even with a limited offense, Stevenson is finding ways to thrive. Against a fantastic Cincinnati defense, Stevenson broke free for three catches for 120 yards and a 69-yard touchdown. He also added 107 yards of kickoff returns.

DL: James Lynch, Baylor (Round Rock)

Lynch was a menace in the trenches, consistently getting into Jett Duffey’s face and causing issues in a tight 33-30 win over the Red Raiders in Lubbock. Lynch might be the best lineman in the state.

LB: Bryan London, Texas State (Converse Randolph)

London led a strong team defensive effort against Louisiana-Monroe. He led a strong overall team defensive performance, holding star QB Caleb Evans without a touchdown and keeping ULM to 24 manageable points.

DB: Douglas Coleman, Texas Tech

Coleman continued to be the most disruptive safety in the Big 12. He took the national lead with six interceptions after nabbing one off of Charlie Brewer in the first half to help lead Texas Tech to a halftime lead in Waco. Coleman is playing as well as any DB in the conference.

UT: Demani Richardson, Texas A&M (Waxahachie)

The true freshman from Waxahachie was unfazed against college football’s greatest ever dynasty, leading the Aggies with 11 tackles, breaking up a pass and intercepting Tua Tagovailoa for the first time this season. Richardson will be a force for years to come.

ST: P Dane Roy, Houston

Roy had an outstanding day punting the ball. He booted four punts, averaged 54 yards per punt and had three drop inside the 20-yard line. Cincy started on average at the 12-yard line and scored zero points off Roy’s punts.
