XFL Draft Player Tracker: 24 Texan colleges represented on early draft list

By Doug Holleman

The XFL has begun releasing draft-eligible participants for the first ever XFL Draft, which will be held next week.

Six hundred names have been released at this point for the draft, and 86 of the players played college football in the state of Texas. Twenty-four different schools are represented on the list as of Friday.

The list features a variety of interesting names, including a Baylor Freshman All-American, a Green Beret, a fullback and an NAIA star. All will compete to earn a spot on one of eight XFL teams, two of which are based in the state of Texas.

The 2019 XFL Draft will take place next week, and features a convoluted mix of lottery, snake draft and position-specific rounds to pull together a 71-player roster. Click here to read the full list of XFL Draft rules. We will continue to update this draft tracker until all 1,000 names have been released.
