If you can't make it to games in person this weekend, you're spoiled for choice from the couch. Here are some of the best options at your disposal for the next four days.

Thursday, Aug. 29

High School

Katy vs. North Shore, ESPNU

The defending 6A, DI champs take on one of the state’s most successful powers in what could be the first of two battles of the Houston-area titans. Last season, North Shore tamed the Tigers twice, including a 49-38 win in the Region III championship game.

Wall vs. Mason, FSSW

The 3A DI Hawks march in to the Puncherdome to take on the defending 2A DI champions, and you get all the fun Texas Football Days coverage on Fox Sports Southwest that comes with it. It's as close to College Gameday as high school football gets in Texas.

Texas State at Texas A&M, SEC Network

An intriguing matchup. Former A&M assistant coach Jake Spavital leads his Bobcats into Kyle Field as the Aggies prepare for their week 2 matchup with defending national champion Clemson.

Friday, Aug. 30

High School

Denison vs. Sherman: 7:30, Fox Sports Southwest

As part of Texas Football Days, the Battle of the Ax takes center stage. Denison and Sherman meet for the 121st time, renewing one of the state’s longest-running rivalries. Denison’s won the last six battles, but Sherman holds overall bragging rights with a 68-43-8 advantage.

Rice at Army: 5 pm, CBS Sports Network

The Mike Bloomgren era begins with a trip to historic Michie Stadium. Army boasts one of the nation’s most punishing ground attacks with their wishbone. The Owls must make the most of their possessions; they won’t get many against the patient, relentless Black Knights.

Saturday, Aug. 31

Louisiana Tech at Texas, 6:30, Longhorn Network

Sam says Texas is baaaaacck. It might be too soon to tell as the Longhorns open the season with the other Louisiana team on the schedule. With the delicious LSU game waiting in the wings, plenty of eyes will be on Austin to see if the Horns can answer several key questions like will Tom Herman finally start a season at Texas 1-0? and will running backs Keaontay Ingram and Jordan Whittington make it through unscathed?

Incarnate Word at UTSA, 5:00, ESPN3

An early battle for Alamo City bragging rights? Probably not as the FBS Roadrunners take on the FCS Cardinals. Converse Judson fans will be glued in. Former Rockets Sincere McCormick and Rashad Wisdom earned starting spots at true freshmen.

SMU at Arkansas State, 6:00, ESPN +

Former Longhorns QB Shane Buechele takes the reins for the Mustangs. Can Buechele fare as well as the last Longhorns QB to end up at SMU? Garrett Gilbert led the Mustangs to a bowl in his first season.

Sunday, Sept. 1

Houston at Oklahoma, 6:30, ABC

Looking for a leisurely end to your football watching weekend? This may not be your thing. Offensive masterminds Dana Holgorsen and Lincoln Riley match wits to get things off and running. A pair of Texas high school quarterbacks square off as well. Bleacher Report says Houston’s D’Eriq King (Manvel) could be college football’s next Kyler Murray. Alabama transfer Jalen Hurts (Channelview) hopes to follow in the footsteps of Murray and Baker Mayfield for the Sooners.
