We’re counting down the days until football is back in the state of Texas, and we’re down to six days. To celebrate, we’re listing six different guys who can go for six. Simply put, these guys are a threat to break away for a touchdown on every single play.

D’Eriq King, Houston

We might as well call D’Eriq King the King of Touchdowns. Last season, he was unmatched when it came to getting into the end zone. Despite missing multiple games with a meniscus injury, King posted 50 touchdowns – 36 passing, 14 rushing. With a clean bill of health and an interesting schedule, King is on pace to shatter that number in 2019.

James Proche, SMU

With Courtland Sutton and Trey Quinn out of his way, Proche proved he can score in any way. He caught a 50-yard touchdown against Michigan in the Big House, and added other touchdowns of 59, 67 and 46 over the course of the year. He’s a threat to house any ball he catches.

Jalen Reagor, TCU

Reagor set the program record with seven consecutive games with a receiving touchdown, despite playing with a plethora of inconsistent quarterbacks. In the last two regular season games of the year, Reagor added both a receiving and rushing score to lead the Horned Frogs to a bowl game. If TCU can start one quarterback all year long, Reagor’s numbers could be astronomical.

Nathan Stewart, Sam Houston

Stewart’s touchdown numbers were limited as a junior, but don’t let that fool you. The All-American posted a combined 26 touchdowns in his freshman and sophomore seasons. He proved his insane ability against Abilene Christian, catching a pass and taking it 88 yards to the house. Now that he’s the featured player on the Bearkat offense, his touchdown numbers should be even better.

DeAndre Torrey, North Texas

Late in North Texas’ matchup with rival FAU, the Mean Green needed a spark. The lead was down to three with just four minutes remaining. Torrey knew just what to do. He took the ball and exploded for a 92-yard touchdown to ice the game. Torrey was a touchdown machine, posting 17 all-purpose touchdowns and multiple touchdowns in five different games.

Jordan Whittington, Texas

If you need any proof that Whittington can go to the house, just look at the 2018 state championship game between Cuero and Pleasant Grove. He posted six total touchdowns to almost singlehandedly lead the Gobblers past PG. From what we’ve heard, Whittington is doing the same exact thing against Texas defenders in practice. We can’t wait to see it on the field.
