Prospect on the Rise

This week we focus in on A&M Consolidated 2020 CB/WR Nate Floyd (6'0, 175)

We mentioned A&M Consolidated's Devin Price and Brian Darby in our pre-tournament prospect preview, but the overall D1 MVP may have been Floyd, who starred on both sides of the football at CB and WR.

Floyd was super elusive out of the slot and caught a lot of footballs over the middle, but he may have been even more valuable on defense where he locked down half of the field.

He is seriously considering offers from schools like Arizona, Missouri, SMU and Texas Tech. Oklahoma State is also keeping close tabs but has yet to offer.

Commit of the Week

TCU picked up a commitment from Edinburg Vela 2020 OT Tyler Bailey (6'4, 280).

Bailey picked the Horned Frogs over offers from Houston, LSU, Missouri and North Texas.

Next Level Athlete Scouting Report: His junior tape shows athleticism and nasty finish elements. He consistently shows reliable foot patterns with the ability to overtake wide DEs with physicality on outside zone. His pass protection/kick-slide foot-work is agile and quick.

Underclassman of the Week

This week's rising underclassman is Denton Guyer QB Eli Stowers (6'4, 205), who made his commitment to Texas A&M.

Stowers, who just left College Station after the State 7-on-7, picked the Aggies over offers from schools like Baylor, TCU, Arkansas, Clemson, Georgia, LSU, Oregon and more.

As a sophomore, Stowers threw for 1,571 yards and 13 touchdowns, and he rushed for 1,119 yards and nine touchdowns to earn district Offensive Newcomer of the Year honors.

Recruit of the Week

Today The Opening finals will wrap up at The Star in Frisco, and no player may have made more waves than Longview 2020 QB Haynes King (6'3, 190).

On Tuesday, Quarterback gurus George Whitfield and Yogi Roth (also Elite 11 coaches) both said King was the No. 1 quarterback in attendance at the event after watching him throw side by side all of the other elite national prospects.

King is a proven winner. He helped Longview to a state title in 2018, passing for 3,877 yards and 42 touchdowns. He was named the state title game Offensive MVP.

On the recruiting front, King is close to a decision. Texas A&M and Tennessee lead.
