The State 7-on-7 Tournament is going down this weekend in College Station, a great opportunity to get some eyes on Texas high school football teams and watch some exciting 7-on-7 action. We've got comprehensive coverage of the event at TexasFootball.com, and we wanted to take a deep dive into the data to try to identify the best pools, the most exciting games, and the teams most likely to bring home the hardware.

Here's how we did it: we looked at our preseason computer rankings — they'll be posted for Insiders on TexasFootball.com starting the first week in July — to see how we project each team to perform in the fall. Using that data, we project out the strongest pools, the best games, and some predictions.

Please note: admittedly, this is not a perfect system, mostly because 7-on-7 is very different from the 11-man games. Some teams are better at 7-on-7 than they are in the fall; others are worse. Still, it's an interesting bit of data that could lend some insight into what to expect when August rolls around.
