Prospect on the Rise

This week we focus in on St. Pius X WR/CB Seth Jones (6'0, 180). 

Jones, a  one-time Boston College commit, added a few big in-state offers from schools like Baylor, Texas A&M, and Houston over the past week and a half. 

Jones is one of the state's best athletes. He posted a 100.50 Nike+ Rating after running a 4.69 laser-timed 40-yard dash and a 4.37 pro-shuttle at The Opening Houston. 

Commit of the Week

Arkansas continued to stay red hot on the recruiting trail in the Lone Star State by adding two more commits — and both were from state championship teams.  

Highland Park 2020 QB Chandler Morris (6'0, 170) and North Shore 2020 RB John Gentry (5'10, 180) called the Hogs this week. 

Morris, who passed for over 4,000 yards and scored 66 touchdowns while helping the Scots to a third consecutive state title in 2018, picks up the Commit of the Week honors. 

Seven of Arkansas' nine 2020 commits are from Texas. 

Underclassman of the Week

This week's rising underclassman is Denton Ryan 2021 ATH Billy Bowman Jr. (5'10, 175). 

Bowman picked up new offers this week from Virginia Tech, Oregon, Alabama, and Texas. 

Schools like Boston College, SMU, Tulsa, Baylor, Notre Dame, Kansas, Arkansas, Texas Tech, North Texas, TCU, Houston, Duke, Vanderbilt, Georgia Tech and Missouri have also offered. 

Bowman is a true two-way standout who could play WR or CB on the next level. 

Recruit of the Week

Tomball 2020 WR Demond Demas (6'0, 180) picked up a fifth star in the DCTF rankings. 

Demas is the second player in Texas to capture the distinction, joining North Shore RB Zachary Evans.   

As a junior, Demas hauled in 50 passes for 1,574 yards and 23 touchdowns to earn first team all-state honors.
