Lewisville 2022 WR Armani Winfield (6'1, 175) established himself as a top prospect with a breakout season on the field in 2018.

He hauled in 27 receptions for 376 yards and three touchdowns. The Farmers went 9-3 and finished second in 6-6A, which was one of the most competitive districts in the state.

"It went pretty smooth," Winfield said. "I can tell you the weight room has a big impact, huge. I am just looking forward to next season to do it even better."

"I have to improve my routes and my strength, just to get even bigger in the weight room."

"The team – we knew each other since we were in little league – we all knew each other," Winfield continued. "It was just a family. We already had that bond before the season even started."

"I did well when the team needed me most. I did not disappoint."

Winfield has been on a recruiting rampage this spring, securing offers from schools like Alabama, TCU, SMU, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, LSU, Texas A&M and more.

Winfield is happy for all the recruiting attention but is not trying to let the hype take away from his focus.

"The offers are cool, but that is not what I am working for," Winfield stated. "I am working for a state championship."

There is still one school out there who could climb up the list if they extended an offer.

"Ohio State," Winfield answered when asked if there was an offer he was hungry to receive. "I would love to play there. I just like their culture; it seems like a family up there."

Baylor was Winfield's first offer back in June of 2018, and that early attention has resonated with him.

"It meant a lot. Baylor, I went down to the camp, and all they showed was love, pure love. I love going down to Baylor. I love the coaching staff. I love everything about it."
