Texas A&M athletic director Scott Woodward has accepted the same position at LSU, according to a report from TexAgs.

Woodward arrived at Texas A&M in January 2016 and immediately raised the bar. He has spurred development and improvements across many Aggies athletic facilities, including a new softball complex and track stadium.

His crowning achievement came before last season, when Woodward helped raise the money to offer national champion coach Jimbo Fisher a 10-year, $75 million contract. Six different coaches at Texas A&M have won national championships. Woodward's latest addition was men's basketball coach Buzz Williams, who led Virginia Tech to the Sweet 16 this season.

However, Woodward is a Baton Rouge native and graduate of LSU. After LSU athletic director Joe Alleva stepped down this morning, Woodward quickly became the favorite to earn the job.

Before Texas A&M, Woodward was athletic director at Washington and an athletic department executive at LSU.
