Prospect on the Rise

This week we focus in on Spring Westfield 2020 DT Nick Booker-Brown (6'1, 249).

Booker-Brown picked up a new offer from Colorado. He also holds offers from schools like FIU, Houston, Louisiana, Rutgers, Southern and Texas Southern.

Spring Westfield has a long history of producing excellent college prospects on the defensive front like Ed Oliver (Houston) and Keondre Coburn (Texas).

Booker-Brown was the DL MVP at The Opening in Houston and was named Top 5 on the DL at the Next Level Athlete Top 100 Showcase in Houston.

Commit of the Week

Clemson picked up a commitment from Southlake Carroll 2020 CB RJ Mickens (6'1, 185).

Mickens selected the Tigers over offers like Texas A&M, Oklahoma State, Georgia, Oklahoma, Baylor, Michigan, LSU, Alabama, Stanford, Oregon, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Florida and Penn State.

Next Level Scouting Report: "Mickens made a huge impact on both sides of the football in 2018. As a defensive back, he has good length and is smooth and fluid. He supports run well. He is not a knockback tackler but good enough to secure tackles in space. Going to be the best athlete on the field most Friday nights."

Mickens is the son of former Texas A&M standout Ray Mickens.

Underclassman of the Week

Cypress Bridgeland 2021 CB Bryce McMorris (5'11, 160) picked up and offer from SMU.

The Mustangs are the first program to step up to the plate with an offer for McMorris. TCU is also showing interest.

McMorris collected 29 tackles and broke up five passes as a sophomore in 2018.

Recruit of the Week

Fort Bend Marshall 2020 CB Avery Helm (6'2, 170) committed to Florida.

Helm picked the Gators over offers from LSU, Houston, Ole Miss, Colorado, Georgia, Kansas, Alabama, Florida, Arkansas, Michigan State, Auburn, TCU, Texas Tech, UTSA, Kansas State, Missouri, Minnesota, Tennessee and more.

Helm took unofficial trips to schools like Arizona, Houston, Alabama, and LSU before deciding to commit to UF.

Helm collected 22 tackles and three interceptions before suffering a season-ending ACL injury.
