Prospect on the Rise

Today, we focus in on Gruver ATH Jalin Conyers (6'4, 220). Conyers has made a meteoric rise up the recruiting charts over the past few weeks.

This week Conyers added new offers from Tulsa, Texas A&M, Georgia, Oregon, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Michigan, Baylor, LSU and Arizona State.

Conyers is an exciting prospect who could probably play DE or TE at the next level. He spent time playing WR and DB in 2018, securing first team all-district honors.

Commit of the Week

Texas picked up a commitment from Bishop Dunne 2020 RB Jaden Hullaby (6'1, 210).

Hullaby selected the Longhorns over a wide array of national offers, a list that included schools like Baylor, Florida, Iowa, Arizona State, Boston College, Michigan State, Iowa State, Arkansas, SMU, Utah, TCU, Vanderbilt, Houston and LSU.

Hullaby is a big-framed back who could provide some flexibility out of the backfield.

Next Level Scouting Report: "Hullaby is a downhill runner. He keeps his pad level down and has the strength and size to run through tackles. Good sidestep to make defenders miss in traffic; he can dip and bounce. He is always gaining ground and moving forward. Accelerates well, with enough top end to run away from high school tacklers. Hullaby is a very effective blocker. "

Pay attention to the last line of his scouting report as there has been some talk of him as an H-back style prospect in this class.

Texas missed on some top RBs down the home-stretch in 2019, so this is a great early addition. RB depth and versatility is needed.

Underclassman of the Week

Godley 2021 WR Brenen Hawkins (6'3, 185) picked up a new offer from Texas Tech this week.

The Red Raiders are Hawkins' first in-state offer, joining schools like Illinois State and Kansas on his current list.

Hawkins reports that TCU is another school taking a close look at his skill set, but the Horned Frogs have yet to extend a scholarship.

Hawkins was one of the WR standouts at the Sky's the Limit skills clinic on Sunday and is just starting to scratch the surface of his potential. He is on track to develop into a premier target.

Recruit of the Week

Arlington 2020 ATH Jahari Rogers (6'0, 175) named a top eight: Arkansas, LSU, Georgia Tech, Florida, Miami, Oklahoma, TCU and Texas.

All of the schools on his list have extended him a scholarship offer.

Rogers was one of the top offensive prospects in the state in 2018. Playing QB, he racked up over 3,800 yards and scored 48 touchdowns to help lead the Colts to a district title.

Listed as an athlete, Rogers is mainly being recruited to play defensive back at the next level.

News and Notes
