Both UTSA and SFA have 1 commitment in the 2019 TXHSFB Hot 100 and they are considered as the class cornerstones.

FW OD Wyatt WR De'Corian "JT" Clark (6'3, 200) checks in at No.44, making him a four-star prospect. He was released from his Letter of Intent at Houston and elected to sign with Frank Wilson and the Roadrunners. His blend of size, athleticism, and leaping ability helped earn him  District Offensive Player of the Year honors.

Lufkin DT Carl Williams (6'4, 310) checks in at No. 81 and is the highest rated SFA signee in the internet era of recruiting sites. Williams, a one-time Arkansas pledge, elected to stay closer to home and play for the Lumberjacks. He will enter the program college-ready from a physical perspective. He has a quick first step, plays with good pad level, and the power to overwhelm offensive linemen.

TCU signed 2 four-star running backs in Hirschi's Daimarqua Foster (No. 28) and Newton's Darwin Barlow (No. 31)

These two backs could quickly change the complexion of the TCU offense.

Foster is considered to be the fastest in-state running back, bosting a 4.41 laser-timed 40-yard dash speed. He could walk into the program and be a change of pace back in 2019.

Barlow is considered to be the state's strongest in-state running back. Barlow helped lead Newton to multiple state titles. He should be considered as the perfect candidate to replace a Sewo Olonilua.

Allen and Mansfield Legacy placed the highest amount of recruits on this year's list with 4 each. It is interesting to note, all eight players have elected to play out of state.

Allen: WR Theo Wease (Oklahoma), OG EJ Ndoma-Ogar (Oklahoma), DT Jayden Jernigan (Oklahoma State), QB Grant Tisdale (Ole Miss)

Mansfield Legacy: CB Jeffery Carter (Alabama), S Jalen Catalon (Arkansas), DT Enoch Jackson (Arkansas), DT/DE Taurean Carter (Arkansas)

With the release of the 2019 TXHSFB Hot 100, we have established a clear-cut guideline for what it takes to be a five-star prospect; the top 5 players in each cycle will be awarded five-star status.

It is interesting to note that there are 6 quarterback and 6 tight ends on the list because the in-state Top 100 typically boasts more signal callers.

It was a particularly strong in-state year for the TE. At the top of the rankings, you will find names like Prestonwood Christian Academy's No. 16 Austin Stogner (Oklahoma) and Brock's No. 18 Baylor Cupp (Texas A&M). Both are strong four-star prospects with all-conference potential.

Stanford-bound Elijah Higgins (No. 25) from Austin Bowie is the most athletic specimen at the position. Higgins' blend of size and athleticism make him a mismatch nightmare.

Dickinson's Jalen Wydermyer (Texas A&M), Tomball's Logan Compton (Baylor), and Strake Jesuit's Thomas Gordon (Northwestern) round out what is an impressive list.

Texas A&M signed 14 prospects on the list, giving them the highest rated in-state recruiting class. In addition to the 14 signees, the Aggies also inked the most in-state five-star prospects (3) and four-star prospects (10).
