Two New Class of 2020 Commitments

Texas A&M took advantage of the Super Bowl to host some of the top underclassmen in the state on its campus.

It kicked off the festivities by landing an out of state commitment from Louisiana based DB Major Burns. Burns selected the Aggies over offers from schools like Arizona, Duke, Florida State, Mississippi State, and Purdue.

But things really ramped up in the first quarter of the game when Cibolo Steele 2020 DB Jaylon Jones (6'2, 188) announced that he was committing to A&M.

Jones selected the Aggies over offers from schools like Alabama, Baylor, Florida, Ohio State, and Texas.

"It has been a long and thorough process, and I'm excited to say I've found my home," Jones said. "All my boxes are checked, and I've found what I've been looking for."

Jones took home DB MVP honors at the Next Level Athlete Top 100 Showcase and is widely considered as one of the top overall recruits in the state in the 2020 cycle.

New Offers to Some of TXHSFB's Up and Coming Stars

If you watched the state championship game between Shadow Creek and Highland Park in AT&T Stadium, then you probably quickly spotted Shadow Creek 2020 DB Xavion Alford (6'0, 175)

Alford passed the eye-ball test as one of the most physically imposing players on the field and left his mark on the game by securing a first-half interception.

Alford picked up an offer from Texas A&M on Sunday to add to a growing list that includes schools like Arizona, Arkansas, Baylor, LSU, Michigan, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, TCU, and many more.

"It was a nice way to spend Super Bowl Sunday," Alford reported.

"I’ve been to A&M multiple times and the culture up there is crazy. The people are good people. The Super Bowl party was real nice and the day was set up well."

Texas A&M also extended an offer to Little Elm 2020 CB Ryan Watts (6'2, 181). Watts is one of the state's hottest recruiting targets with over 15 offers to his credit.

"The visit was great got to see a lot of great things the Aggies have to offer and was able to meet a lot of people that took me in like I was an Aggie myself," Watts said.

"The offer means a lot to me with it being made in person by Coach (Jimbo) Fisher himself, (who was) one of my idols as a kid growing up watching him on TV."

A new WR offer was made to A&M Consolidated 2020 WR Devin Price (6'3, 195). Price is the son of Texas A&M assistant coach Terry Price (defensive line).

The Aggies join an offer list that includes schools like Arizona, Boston College, Kansas, Southern Miss, Utah, and Vanderbilt.

Price is a multiple sport all-district performer and a plus student in the classroom.
