Spring Westfield 2020 OL Cedric Claiborne (6'4, 280) committed to UTSA over offers from programs like Florida State, Florida Atlantic, McNeese State, and Southern.

Claiborne is a versatile played tackle in high school but is versatile enough to play multiple positions, so position flexibility is one of his strengths.

Evaluation: Claiborne is explosive off the snap and is a tremendous drive blocker because he plays with good pad level, strikes quickly, and keeps his feet moving. He moves exceptionally well and can transition to the second level and secure blocks — whether releasing straight to a linebacker or working a combo block it is no surprise to see Claiborne working blocks 10 yards or more down the field. His best highlights are in the run block game, but his quick feet and athleticism will be an asset in pass pro in college. Claiborne could play OT, OG, or OC in college and it is my opinion that his skill set would translate well to OC.

Claiborne earned first team 16-6A all-district honors after helping lead Spring Westfield to a 12-2 record.
