Prospect on the Rise
North Shore Class of 2019 S Dorian Hewett (5'11, 180) is on an impressive 10-day recruiting run.
Hewett took an official visit to Utah, decommitted from Syracuse, hosted Syracuse and Utah on in-home visits and picked up new offers from Washington and USC.
Hewett — who helped lead North Shore to a 6A Division I state championship in AT&T Stadium — reports that he will take an official visit to Syracuse this weekend and one to USC next weekend.
Commit of the Week
Mansfield Legacy 2019 S Jalen Catalon (5'9, 190) made his commitment to Arkansas.
Catalon — who picked the Razorbacks over offers from schools like Oklahoma, TCU, and Texas — missed most of his senior year after suffering an ACL injury in the season-opener.
Catalon was named the 10-5A MVP in 2017 after racking up 101 tackles and three interceptions on defense to go with over 2,100 yards and 29 TDs on offense.
Underclassman of the Week
The secret is out on Denton Ryan 2021 DE/TE JaTavion Sanders (6'3, 220), a prospect we spotlighted in September.
Right now, no prospect may be hotter than the two-way standout from the Dallas area.
Sanders has exploded onto the national recruiting scene with offers from schools like Baylor, SMU, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Missouri, and Texas A&M.
Recruit of the Week
On Tuesday, Plano East 2019 S Tyler Owens (6'2, 200) was named a five-star prospect by one of the primary recruiting services.
Owens signed with the Texas Longhorns in college football's early signing period and will add depth to a unit that features standouts like Caden Sterns and Brandon Jones.
Owens posted a hand-held 10.01 100-meter time (wind-adjusted to a 10.34) in 2018 and had a self-reported 4.41 40-yard dash.
