Impact Player of the Game

It was only fitting that the last high school football game in Texas was a thriller.

Helped by an onside kick recovery Team Gold wide receiver Eric Rascoe (Warren) scored two touchdowns in under a minute to lead his team to a 33-29 win and capture the Impact Player of the Game trophy.

“It means a lot," Rascoe said. "At Warren, they prep us for this and it took a lot of hard work just to get in this game. being the impact player means a lot to me."

"It was just go time. Everyone thought we would get the 'W.' We ended up getting that touchdown at the end, so it all came together for us. We come here to have fun, but you don't want to go home with the 'L,' so it felt good to win."

Incarnate Word Signees Stand Out

There were some high profile Power Five conference commits in the game, but two UIW commits played exceptionally well.

San Antonio Madison’s Dante Heaggans (Team Gold) was the game’s most electric player. He racked up close to 200 hundred total yards and tossed one of the TD passes to Rascoe.

Heaggans was able to showcase his athletic ability, and it’s easy to see that he could play multiple positions at the next level.

Churchill defensive end Seth Jaquess (Team Black) was the game’s most dominant defensive player.

Jaquess controlled the line of scrimmage to limit the run and had two tackles for a loss and a sack.

It seemed he made the game-winning stop on a two-point conversion attempt in the closing seconds, but the onside kick changed the nature of the game.

TCU Commit Shows Versatility

O’Connor offensive lineman Brannon Brown (Team Black) has played multiple positions up front throughout his prep career, but on Saturday he might have given fans a glimpse at his future role.

Brown lined up at guard and center, but his ability to center snap makes him a very valuable commodity heading into his college career.

Brown was accurate with his snaps and quick to contact. His versatility as a prospect is one of his strengths but we project him to play center at TCU, and it was cool to see him play the position.
