Recruit of the Week

Duncanville 2020 ATH Ja'Quinden Jackson (6'2, 205) racked up 280 yards of total offense and scored four touchdowns in a 51-7 blowout of Southlake Carroll on Saturday night in the Frisco Ford Center.

Jackson is considered as one of the top recruits in the state and has already earned offers from schools like Alabama, Baylor, LSU, Oklahoma, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, and more.

Jackson and his Panthers teammates are set to face off against No. 1 rated Allen on Saturday at 4 p.m. in the Class 6A Division I state semifinal at AT&T Stadium.

In 2018, Jackson has accounted for 2,581 yards and 33 TDs.

Commit of the Week

Odessa Permian 2019 OL Landon Peterson (6'6, 265) made his commitment to Texas Tech.

The one-time Baylor commitment picked the Red Raiders over offers from schools like Colorado, Illinois, Virginia, Washington State, SMU, and more.

Peterson helped lead Odessa Permian to an 8-4 record in 2018. The Panthers finished in a three-way tie atop the 6A Region II standings.

Underclassman of the Week

Highland Park 2020 QB Chandler Morris (6'0, 170) scored four touchdowns in the fourth quarter to help lead the Scots to a come from behind 42-35 win over John Tyler. He racked up 364 yards and scored six total TDs.

Following the win, Morris picked up an offer from new Kansas head coach Les Miles. The Jayhawks join schools like Arkansas, Auburn, Baylor, Colorado, Oklahoma, and SMU on Morris' offer list.

Morris is the son of Arkansas head coach Chad Morris.

Prospect on the Rise

Fort Bend Marshall 2020 ATH Devon Achane (5'9, 170) has been going off in the playoffs, scoring 15 TDs in four games.

“He’s doing a lot for us right now — offense, defense, special teams he’s making a huge difference in every aspect for us,” said Marshall head coach James Williams after a regional championship win over Huntsville.

In the win, Achane made his presence felt in virtually every way on the Buffalos offense and amassed 112 rushing yards, 95 passing yards, and five total TDs.

Achane only has four offers (Houston, Ole Miss, SMU, Tulane), but judging his post-season performance and his junior highlight tape it likely will be a matter of time before his offer list triples.
