Carthage won a 50-49 thriller over Midlothian Heritage in the Frisco Ford Center on Friday night.

2020 Baylor OT commit Ty'kieast Crawford (6'6, 310) consistently set the edge and helped buy time for his quarterback to make plays down the stretch.

It was an emotional back and forth game. A two-point conversion in overtime was needed for the win.

"I started crying in the huddle, I'm not going to lie to you," Crawford said after the game.

"We just had to buckle down. We did everything we could to get the ball in the end zone, just exactly what our coach told us to do."

This season, Crawford emerged on our radar as one of the state's best offensive line prospects in the 2020 cycle.

"Coming into it, I was nervous because this is my first time starting on varsity," said Crawford who missed his sophomore season due to injury. "So I know I had to buckle down and get out there, but my offensive line here is my family. They have helped me with every single thing I needed to do."

A good comparison for him may be former East Texas legend, Trent Williams.

"I am trying to get up there with him," Crawford stated. "I am trying to get up there (in the NFL) like him."

Crawford made an early commitment to Baylor, picking the Bears over offers from Arkansas and Missouri.

"I like the intensity, I like the fans, really everything," Crawford said about Baylor. "I like the coaches a lot. I love the facilities."

Crawford is already recruiting for the Bears.

After the game, he got in the ear of Midlothian Heritage WR Langston Anderson, who put Baylor in his final five.

"I told him I hope to block for him in college," Crawford stated. "He told me he'd be letting me know."

SMU extended Crawford an offer on Wednesday.
