Recruit of the Week

Port Neches-Grove QB Roschon Johnson (6'1, 195) led his team to an area championship with a 50-28 win over Lindale.

The Texas commit passed for 230 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 243 yards and four TDs.

Johnson is one of 25 semifinalists for the 2018 Mr. Texas Football Player of the Year award.

Johnson will play in the Under Armour All-America Game in January.

Commit of the Week

Merkel ATH Jonah White (6'0, 190) made his commitment to play at Baylor last Wednesday.

White is the 16th known commitment for the Bears in the Class of 2019 and the 14th in-state pledge.

As a senior in 2018, White rushed for 2,611 yards and 34 TDs.

Scouting Report: White is a man among boys. He has a most impressive highlight tape although it's against small-town athletes. His ability is evident. He can high-ball pluck it with his vertical, has enormous hands, exceptional vision, and quickly accelerates to full speed gate. Plays running back in high school but could play wide receiver on the next level.

Underclassman of the Week

Frisco Lone Star WR Marvin Mims (6'1, 170) helped lead the Rangers to a surprisingly lopsided 49-21 win over Lufkin.

In the victory, Mims collected seven catches for 239 yards and three scores for an impressive 34.1 yards per catch.

The Class of 2020 standout has already collected 19 scholarship offers with schools like Arkansas, Nebraska, Ohio State, SMU, TCU, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech among them.

Prospect on the Rise

After a strong senior season, Byron Nelson WR Calvin Wiggins Jr. (6'3, 195) is one of the state's hottest recruits.

Wiggins committed to SMU this week but shortly after added a P5 in-state offer from TCU. Could even more offers be on the horizon?

In 2018, Wiggins collected 28 receptions for 645 yards (23.0 YPC) and 8 TDs.
