Recruit of the Week
Southlake Carroll RB TJ McDaniel (5'11, 190) went off in a first-round playoff win over Coppell.
In the 54-10 win, McDaniel rushed for 313 yards and four touchdowns. Additionally, he secured a TD reception.
McDaniel, who is verbally committed to SMU, has now rushed for 1,753 yard and 30 TDs as a senior.
Southlake Carroll (11-0) has a second-round showdown with DeSoto (9-2) on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Mansfield's Vernon Newsome Stadium.
Commit of the Week
Lake Travis S/OLB Hunter Henry (6'0, 190) announced his commitment to Rice.
Henry picked the Owls over offers from schools like Princeton and Texas State. Texas Tech had also been showing an interest.
Henry is an enforcer in the secondary. He should be viewed as a hybrid-style safety who can also come up and play some outside linebacker.

Underclassman of the Week
Aledo WR Jojo Earle (5'8, 165) picked up a scholarship offer from the Texas Longhorns.
The 'Horns jin Texas Tech on Earle's early offer list, but things are just getting started in his recruitment.
Earle is a lightning-quick slot-style receiver who gashes defenses for big plays.
Prospect on the Rise
Jersey Village OT Patrick Paul (6'7, 330) is a fast-rising late bloomer in the Houston-area.
Paul doubled his offer list this week when he added an offer from Houston. The Cougars join Tulsa as the first two programs to give the mammoth OT a chance to play at the next level.
Could more offers be on the horizon?
