Commit of the Week

King Doerue (5'10, 210) from Amarillo Tascosa committed to Purdue. Doerue picked the Boilermakers over offers from programs like Arkansas, Baylor,  Kansas, Minnesota, TCU, Texas Tech, Texas A&M and more.

Doerue has 617 yards, nine touchdowns on 83 carries this season.

Next Level Athlete Breakdown: "No negatives here unless it is undocumented speed. Has pad speed, forward lean, runs away from defenders. A downhill runner, who finishes and sees the cutback. Might be best prospect period in Panhandle. Plays like a Big 10 running back."

Recruit of the Week

Roschon Johnson (6'2, 210) was officially selected for the 2019 Under Armour All-America Game when he received his jersey during a presentation at Port Neches-Groves.

Johnson -- who is verbally committed to sign with Texas -- missed part of his senior season due to an injury but has led PN-G to come from behind victories the past two weeks.

Johnson is rated as the No. 1 QB in Texas per Next Level Athlete.

Underclassman of the Week

Midlothian Heritage Class of 2020 wide receiver Jay Wilkerson (6'1, 165) tripled his offer count this week adding new offers from Texas Tech and North Texas

The Red Raiders and Mean Green join Tulsa as the first three schools to step up for the fast-rising DFW pass catcher.

Wilkerson has had a strong junior year. He has pulled down 25 receptions for 482 yards and seven touchdowns.

Prospect on the Rise

Dulles athlete Ainias Smith (5'10, 181) was a force to be reckoned with on the camp scene, and that success has carried over onto the field as he is in the midst of a tremendous senior year, and should be climbing up the various statewide rankings ladders.

Smith is considered to be a three-star talent by the recruiting sites, but he has the type of speed and quickness that have made prospects like Jakeem Grant or Jay Ajayi successful on all levels.

Smith is considering scholarship offers from schools like Indiana, Georgia, Syracuse, Texas A&M, Utah, Vanderbilt, Louisiana Tech, SMU, Southern Miss, Texas State, and Tulane.

Smith had a monster game last week.
