UNT football pulled off a crazy trick play that needs to be seen to be believed.
With 6:49 left in the first quarter, UNT’s defense got a nice stop and forced an Arkansas punt. Arkansas punter Blake Johnson landed it at the 10-yard line, where former Lake Dallas wide receiver Keegan Brewer caught it in the air and settled into his spot.
But he never waved to signal a fair catch. That’s when the magic happened.
Brewer returned the punt 90 yards for a huge touchdown to take a 14-0 lead early in the first quarter. The play has been a huge part of the game so far.
UNT leads Arkansas 31-10 in Fayetteville, Ark., late in the first half. The Mean Green are well on their way to picking up their first win against a Power Five opponent since Indiana in 2011. Quarterback Mason Fine has thrown for 152 yards and a touchdown.
After Arkansas, the Mean Green are favorites in every single remaining game, per ESPN’s Football Power Index.
