Texas A&M football officially announced its 2019 schedule on Tuesday afternoon.
The Aggies open the 2019 season against Texas State at Kyle Field. Next, they travel to South Carolina to take on the Clemson Tigers in a rematch of their 28-26 loss, and close the early nonconference slate against Lamar.
Conference play opens on Sept. 21 at home against Auburn before playing in the yearly neutral site game against Arkansas at AT&T Stadium. The Aggies have their yearly cross-divisional game against South Carolina at home on Nov. 16. However, Texas A&M also gets SEC East opponent Georgia and rival LSU in the final two weeks of the season. However, there are only four true road games on the calendar, and just three out of the state of Texas.
The SEC schedule has factored in two bye weeks around the eight-game conference schedule. One will conveniently come on Oct. 5, right before the Aggies host Alabama. The other is after the late-season nonconference matchup against UTSA on Nov. 9, in advance of the two SEC East matchups.
Texas A&M is 2-1 in the nonconference slate so far in 2018. However, neither team the Aggies beat – Northwestern State and ULM – are on the schedule in 2019.
