Texas might not be back to the top of the Big 12, but its crowds are for one night.

The Longhorns set an attendance record with 103,507 fans in attendance to watch Texas face off against No. 22 USC, according to the program. The mark also set a Big 12 conference record for attendance.

Texas’ rematch against the Trojans from last season is a continuation over a budding rivalry between these two teams. The Longhorns fell 27-24 in double-overtime a season ago. Of course, Texas also beat USC in the 2005 national championship game.

The Longhorns announced early in the year that they would not sell single-game tickets to this game because of demand. To guarantee entry to the game, fans had to buy season tickets.

Luckily, the fans turned out in full force. The game broke the previous attendance record of 102,315 set when Texas hosted Notre Dame in 2016.

Texas leads No. 22 USC 37-14 late in the third quarter in Austin. Quarterback Sam Ehlinger is responsible 245 total yards and three total touchdowns. His breakout game last season was also against USC, but on the road in Los Angeles.
