Munday quarterback Kenyin Thompson put his team on his back last Friday and carried them to a hard-fought 49-35 win over District 9-1A rival Archer City.
Thompson’s numbers at the end of the night were eye-popping: He rushed for 329 yards and four touchdowns and also passed for almost 100 yards and two touchdowns.
More importantly, the win clinched the district title for Munday, which will advance to the playoffs as the district’s Division II top seed.
For the season, Thompson has rushed for 1,568 yards and 20 touchdowns. He also has thrown for 682 yards and 11 touchdowns.

K.C. Niemchi, Katy Cinco Ranch RB: Rushed for 301 yards, 3 TDs in a 49-17 win over Seven Lakes.
Herschel Sims, Abilene RB: Rushed for 281 yards, 4 TDs in a 45-14 win over Richland.
James Sims, Irving MacArthur RB: Rushed for 377 yards and 7 TDs in a 63-35 win over South Grand Prairie.
Tyler Tannehill, Big Spring QB: Passed for 315 yards, 5 TDs in a 43-2 win over San Angelo Lake View.
Kenyin Thompson, Munday QB: Rushed for 329 yards, 4 TDs and passed for 2 TDs in a 49-35 win over Archer City.
Jake Weddle, Frisco Liberty LB: Made 18 tackles and forced four fumbles in a 49-21 win over Frisco Wakeland.
