10/26/2009

Week 7 Winner: Cayuga RB Traylon Shead
An early season ankle injury slowed Cayuga's Traylon Shead in his quest to surpass Kenneth Hall as the state's all-time leading rusher, but now that he's healthy, he's again posting some monster rushing numbers.
Shead had 269 rushing yards and six TDs last week against Cushing to become the state's second-leading rusher.
For his career, Shead now has 8,885 yards, which is 30 more than CC Calallen star Wes Danaher, the previous No. 2.
Shead still trails Hall (11,232) by more than 2,300 yards, but Shead could still come close if he can lead Cayuga on a deep playoff run and continue to have games like he had against Cayuga. If Cayuga plays 16 games, Shead would need to average 260 yards the rest of the way to catch Hall.
