Dave Campbell's Texas Football, along with both Wranglers and Cavenders, is proud to give a weekly Player of the Week award to the most deserving high schooler in the state of Texas. Every Monday at noon, TexasFootball.com will announce ten candidates for that week's award, based on the previous week's on-field performance. Fans can vote online at TexasFootball.com's online poll, where you can see the current vote standings. Voting will close at noon each Friday, with the winner being announced shortly afterward. The award will be given every week through Week 13. Check this page every week to view the full list of ten candidates and the details of their most recent performance.
This season, each weekly winner will be automatically nominated for the Player of the Year award, presented with Cavenders, Wrangler and the Texas Bowl. Those candidates will be announced in Week 13, and voting for that award will continue until the end of the high school season.
Week 7 winner: Graylon Brown, Brownwood QB Brownwood quarterback Graylon Brown has been a playmaker for the Lions all year, but he seems to be getting better and better as the season progresses. In last week’s 61-20 win over Snyder, Brown had a game to remember. Brown passed for 367 yards and six touchdowns and also rushed for 72 yards and a touchdown as the Lions routed the team that appeared most likely to challenge them for the District 5-3A crown. With the win, Brownwood kept its perfect record intact at 8-0 overall and 2-0 in district play. Brownwood is ranked No. 1 in the state in TexasFootball.com’s Class 3A rankings. Brown surpassed 2,000 passing yards for the season with his performance against Snyder. Brown now has 2,076 yards, and perhaps more impressively, he has thrown for 27 touchdowns and only two interceptions. Brown, a 5-10 senior, also has rushed for 391 yards and six touchdowns this season.

Tony Brodner, Dallas Bishop Dunne QB: Passed for 632 yards, 6 TDs, and rushed for 81 yards, 2 TDs in a 70-58 loss to Argyle Liberty Christian.
Graylon Brown, Brownwood QB: Passed for 363 yards, 7 TDs in a 61-20 win over Snyder.
Aaron Bueno, Ben Bolt QB: Rushed for 320 yards, 3 TDs, and passed for 129 yards, 2 TDs in a 34-21 win over La Villa.
Colton Huntsman, Cy Woods QB: Passed for 409 yards, 5 TDs, and rushed for 123 yards, 2 TDs in a 55-27 win over Langham Creek.
Alan Reed, Rockwall QB: Passed for 418 yards, 3 TDs, and rushed for 153 yards, 4 TDs in a 52-51 win over Rockwall-Heath.
Rey Rodriguez, CC Ray QB: Passed for 412 yards, 6 TDs in a 52-21 win over CC Moody.
Desmond Roland, Lake Highlands RB: Rushed for 276 yards, 4 TDs in a 27-21 win over Richardson Berkner.
Nic Sioson, Georgetown QB: Passed for 434 yards, 6 TDs in a 55-51 win over Pflugerville.
Trey Williams, Spring Dekaney RB: Rushed for 304 yards, 3 TDs in a 28-27 loss to Tomball.
