WEEk 15 WINNER: Pilot Point RB Jarman Johnson

For anyone who saw Jarman Johnson run in last week's 2A DI state final against Kirbyville, you knew he had a purpose -- and it wasn't just a trophy.

Two weeks after his father's death, Johnson ran for 242 yards and four touchdowns in the Bearcats win over two-time finalist Kirbyville -- and he led the game off with a bang, a 37-yard score just minutes into the first quarter to give Pilot Point a lead it would never relinquish. Ever so close to 3,000 rushing yards for the season, an amazing accomplishment, Johnson snapped off a 70-yard score to put the game away late, only to see it called back by holding.

Jarman's brother, Willie Davis, also stars for Pilot Point, and between the two of them, they were able to due to justice to their father's request before he passed away -- to win state.
