Army Strong Teams of Week 15
Class 5A: Austin Westlake
Austin Westlake advanced to its fourth state title game this decade with an impressive 42-27 win over Katy Cinco Ranch. QB Tanner Price led the way by passing for 170 yards and rushing for 103 more, and the defense held Cinco Ranch RB K.C. Nlemchi to 81 yards. Westlake (13-2) advances to face Euless Trinity in the 5A-DI state title game.
Class 4A: Brenham
Brenham moved on to the second state title game in school history with a 31-21 win over Kerrville Tivy. QB Ty Schlottman passed for 195 yards and three TDs and returned from a sprained ankle to throw a key fourth- quarter pass that set up the Cubs' final field goal. Brenham (13-2) advances to face Aledo in the 4A-DII state title game.
Class 3A: Graham
Graham rallied in the fourth quarter to regain the lead, then held on for a 27-20 win over Pittsburg. RB Cameron Bailey rushed for 67 yards and three TDs to lead the Steers, and the Graham defense held Pittsburg star RB Ted Burns to just 65 yards. Graham (14-1) advances to face Carthage in the 3A-DII title game.
Class 2A: Pilot Point
Pilot Point won its first state title in 28 years and third overall, with RB Jarman Johnson once again leading the way in a 35-18 win over Kirbyville. Johnson ran for 242 yards less than two weeks after attending a funeral for his father, Henry Davis, who died of cancer. Pilot Point finished its season with a perfect 15-0 record, and Johnson finished with 2,978 rushing yards.
Class 1A: Albany
Albany advanced to its sixth state title team and got revenge for a loss in last year's playoffs with a 28-14 win over Stratford. RB Elijah Hudson had 167 rushing yards and two TDs to lead Albany, which will be going for its first state title since winning back-to-back in 1960-61. Albany (15-0) will face Cayuga in the 1A-DII title game.
Six-man: Borden County
Borden County was ranked No. 1 to start the season and it held onto that ranking every step of the season en route to a 15-0 record and its second straight Six-Man DII state championship. Borden County completed its unbeaten season with a 28-14 win over Highland, the fewest combined points every in a Six-Man title game. Borden County has now won 29 consecutive games, back-to-back titles and three titles overall.
