Week 14 Player of the Week: Denison QB Jordan Taylor

Week 14 Player of the Week
After every weekend of the Texas high school football season, visit this page to find out the candidates for the Player of the Week Award. This honor is awarded to the top performance of the week in Texas High school football. Voting will begin every Monday morning and close Friday at noon.

Week 14 Winner: Denison QB Jordan Taylor

Coming into the season, it appeared Denison QB Jordan Taylor's main job would be handing the ball to star RB D.J. Jones. Taylor has proven to be much more versatile than that.

With defenses focusing attention on Jones, Taylor has established himself as a big-play threat for the Yellow Jackets.

In last week's 49-35 win over Sulphur Springs, Taylor rushed for 223 yards and two touchdowns, and he also threw two touchdown passes.

He was the perfect complement for Jones, who went over 100 yards rushing (168) and receiving (112).

Denison advanced to the Class 4A-Division II state semifinals against Aledo. Denison is trying to reach its fifth state championship game.

Taylor is receiving recruiting interest from Big 12 and Conference USA schools but has not yet made a commitment.
