Week 11 Player of the Week: Edna QB Kam Jones

Week 11 Player of the Week

After every weekend of the Texas high school football season, visit this page to find out the candidates for the Player of the Week Award. This honor is awarded to the top performance of the week in Texas High school football. Voting will begin every Monday morning and close Friday at noon.

Week 11 Winner: Edna QB Kam Jones

Edna quarterback Kam Jones had an amazing effort in his team's 54-40 first-round win over Luling.

Jones passed for 367 yards and three touchdowns, which is enough to make him a Player of the Week candidate all by itself. But Jones also rushed for 260 yards and five touchdowns to almost singlehandedly lead his team to victory.

As if that wasn't enough, Jones also intercepted a pass while playing defense.

Jones has been Edna's offensive leader all season, and the 6-foot, 180-pounder is attracting recruiting interest from several in-state schools, including TCU, Houston and SMU.

Jones and Edna face La Grange in the second round of the Class 3A-Division II playoffs.
