Army Strong Teams of Week 1
TexasFootball.com is proud to partner with the U.S. Army for the Army Strong Team of the Week throughout the Texas high school football season.
Each week, TexasFootball.com and the U.S. Army join together to select one team from every classification in high school football that demonstrated the qualities exhibited within the Army - those include leadership, commitment to excellence and a desire to make a difference as a member of a team. Each is awarded the Army Strong Team of the Week by local officials from the U.S. Army at a school assembly or pep rally.

Austin High rallied from a 42-28 halftime deficit to pull out an amazing 66-63 victory over Belton in one of the state's highest-scoring games of the season. Austin QB Jordan Jaquez completed 30 of 42 passes for 410 yards and 6 TDs, and star WR Cayleb Jones had 13 receptoins for 178 yards and three TDs.
Frisco snapped a 23-game losing streak with a 22-7 victory over Royse City. The Raccoons trailed by a touchdown at halftime, but backup QB Eric Allen scored two second-half TDs and teammate Austin Allen added another rushing TD to secure the victory. Frisco's last win came on Nov. 2, 2007.
Brookshire Royal knocked off powerhouse Giddings with a dramatic 60-yard touchdown run by star RB Brandon Williams in the closing minutes that secured a 34-31 victory. Williams, who has committed to OU, rushed for 259 yards on 18 carries. Royal also beat Giddings in the 2009 state playoffs.
Tatum used a big effort by RB B.J. Allen to pull off a huge road upset of defending Class 3A Division I state champion Gilmer, 47-41, and snap the Buckeyes' 34-game home winning streak. Allen rushed for 286 yards and three TDs, including 253 yards in the second half.
Sundown avenged a 2009 loss to Seagraves with a convincing 33-0 victory. Sundown rolled up 437 total yards while limiting Seagraves to 97 yards and only five first downs. Sundown RB Hunter Berry led all rushers with 161 yards and two TDs.
Jonesboro pulled off a huge six-man upset with a 64-52 victory over powerhouse Strawn. Jonesboro is now 2-0, which matches its win season for 2009, when the Eagles finished 2-8. Jonesboro has scored 130 points in two games.
San Antonio Central Catholic likes to prove itself by playing non-district games against UIL opponents, and the Buttons picked up an impressive 28-25 victory over Harlandale Friday to improve to 2-0. Central Catholic's defense recovered four fumbles.
