Vizza the week's top player

A week after finishing second in the voting, Alamo Heights QB Giovanni Vizza got over the top, winning the statewide Player of the Week for the 15th week of the season.
Vizza rushed for 141 yards and two TDs and completed 26 of 42 passes for 347 yards, two scores and no interceptions in a 40-28 4A Division I State Championship win over Copperas Cove Bulldawgs.

FIFTH-ROUND CANDIDATES:
- Celina DB/QB Dru Prosser,
who spelled injured starter Seth Davis in the second half by throwing for a TD, rushing for a TD, throwing a 2-point conversion, and kicked a 21-yard field goal in a 30-13 win over vernon;
- Cedar Hill LB Chris Francis,
who came up with many tackles -- the biggest a goal-line stop on 4th-and-1 in the final minute of a 31-24 win over DeSoto;
- Austin Westlake QB Nick Foles,
who threw for 238 yards and 4 TDs in a 35-32 win over Pearland;
- Cisco QB Jacob West,
who combined for 218 yards and 2 TDs in a 39-18 win over Stratford;
- Texarkana Liberty-Eylau RB LaMichael James,
who rushed for 129 yards on 16 carries in a 35-34 win over Robinson;
- Richland Springs QB Tyler Etheridge,
who had 562 yards of offense and 9 total TDs in the six-man state championship win over Rule.
