Signing Day, Realignment lookahead
Posted by Greg Tepper on 30 January 2012 | 0 comments

Wednesday and Thursday stand to be pretty big days around the TexasFootball.com sphere.

In case you didn't know, Wednesday (Feb. 1) is National Signing Day, the first day in which high school seniors can sign their National Letters of Intent. It will be a big day full of breaking news, quick-hitting analysis and blue-chip overload. In other words: our kind of fun.

And Thursday (Feb. 1) is UIL Realignment day, in which the University Interscholastic League (the governing body for public high school athletics in Texas) will release the new alignments for every district across the state. Some teams will move up in classifications; others will move down; others will find themselves in entirely new districts, with new rivals emerging. In other words: our kind of fun.

So, two big days in Texas football. Which means, of course, we've got you covered wall-to-wall, stem-to-stern, top-to-bottom.

ON WEDNESDAY: Make TexasFootball.com/SigningDay2012 your home. Go ahead, go take a look.

-We'll have a ticker in which we'll update all of the big news across the state, breaking the news to you whenever we receive word of a Texas high school athlete signing (or an out-of-state athlete signing with a Texas FBS school).

-We'll continually update our Signees List to reflect every Texas FBS school's current class, and every Texas athlete who is signing with an out-of-state FBS school.

It's going to be a fast-paced day, but we'll have you covered at TexasFootball.com/SigningDay2012.

ON THURSDAY: Make TexasFootball.com/Realignment2012 your home. Go ahead, go take a look.

-As soon as the UIL releases the new alignments that morning, we'll have them for you to view and download on our site.

-At noon, the DCTF staff -- managing editor Travis Stewart and myself -- will host an hour-long live chat about the alignments, so bring your questions.

It's a huge day in Texas on Thursday, so make sure you stick with TexasFootball.com/Realignment2012 to keep up to date.
