2012 Week 4 Power Poll

DCTF's 2012 Texas College Power Poll — Week Four

# School Last Week Rank
1 Texas Longhorns 1
Jake Shaw: If the 'Horns are truly the best in Texas, I think the state is having a down year.
2 TCU Horned Frogs 2
Greg Tepper: I learned two things from TCU's win over Virginia on Saturday. 1) Brandon Carter is really, really good. 2) Plenty of good seats still available at the renovated Amon G. Carter Stadium.
3 Texas A&M Aggies 4
Brad Hilliard: The Aggies host Arkansas in College Station this weekend for the first time since 1991, and they’ll be facing a desperate bunch of Hogs reeling from three straight defeats.
t-4 Texas Tech Red Raiders 3
Adam Hochfelder: Texas Tech had a bye week but are a quiet 3-0. They get to travel to Ames, which is an underrated place for home field advantage. Can the Red Raiders keep an impressive streak going vs the unbeaten Cyclones?
t-4 Baylor Bears 5
Rick Epstein: For Pete’s sake Bears….Friday Night Lights are reserved for high school!
6 UTEP Miners 7
Greg Tepper: Mike Price's crew has looked better and better every week, even if it's not showing up in the win column because of a murderer's row of non-conference opponents. This is a far improved Miners team.
7 North Texas Mean Green 6
Jake Shaw: Still waiting for the Mean Green to play a complete game.
8 Rice Owls 8
Rick Epstein: What a

defensive nightmare. If your offense scores 51 points, you should win the game.

9 SMU Mustangs 10
Brad Hilliard: If there is one thing that will bring out the best of the Mustangs and June Jones, it’s being pitted against TCU.  The Frogs visit Gerald J. Ford Stadium this weekend.
10 UTSA Roadrunners 9
Adam Hochfelder: Roadrunners are rolling.  Gotta love it.  Now they start playing FBS teams, but start with a winnable game against New Mexico State
11 Texas State Bobcats 11
Greg Tepper: A win is a win is a win, especially when you're in your first year as an FBS program. But the road only gets tougher to hoe from here, starting with a offensively talented Nevada squad.
12 Houston Cougars 12
Jake Shaw: This is the biggest game of Tony Levine's young career. Lose to Rice and you might lose the fanbase.
