By Travis Stewart/Texas Football -- Dave Campbell's Texas Football now has an online version of the magazine for you.

No matter where the future of mass media takes us, there will never be a feeling quite like opening a new book.

The smell of fresh paper, the crispness of the virgin pages, the dark, bold type all still in perfect condition ... it's an unmatched emotion. One we're probably getting too little of these days. But times are changing, in every sense of the word -- hard copy media isn't as easy to produce as it once was. It doesn't fit in with the slim, sleek lifestyle of the new generation. It's not fast enough, adaptable enough or enduring enough to serve as a sole means of distribution. And, as we've made so abundantly clear the past few months, DCTF is more than willing to adapt to the times.

That said, we're proud to announce an online version of our annual magazines.

Now everyone relax -- that doesn't mean we're not going to print our standard hard copy magazines in June and January. Far from it. We're actually printing more than we ever have before. This is just one more way to give you the content you love in a way that works for you. Are you already sporting one of the new, trendy IPads from Apple? This new set up, where you can easily browse pages, zooming in or out on any image or text, is perfect for that. Still have just a laptop (like me)? It works well there, too. I'm lucky -- I get a free version. And I've already used it when I'm about and about and don't have a hard copy handy. If you need DCTF's info on the go, this is the best way to do it.

Our first foray into this field was with our 2010 Winter Edition, which came out in late January. You may already own it -- if not, I encourage it. But even if you do, the online edition is a little different. First comes four new pages (titled E1-E4) of content that didn't appear in the standard print issue, including a letter from Adam Hochfelder, our executive director, in regards to the future of the brand. And all the info that still had yet to be solidified at the publish date of the print edition -- like signing lists, Top Tens, etc. -- have been updated to reflect current data.

If you follow the link above, you'll be sent to a preview edition of the book, where you can view a few pages. Get a feel for the product and see if you like it. It may not be for you. If you like what you see, you can purchase the item through the preview page -- check for Purchase Options in the left hand corner, or click here. But personally, I really enjoy it. We hope you do, too. And maybe some of the feelings we once enjoyed when cracking open an off-the-rack magazine can hang around, too -- just a little more digital.
