Quarterback Ryan Polite guided DeSoto to the 7-on-7 state semifinals last summer before going on to an outstanding junior campaign for the Eagles. DeSoto went 9-3 in 2009, and Polite passed for 4,051 yards and a 39-12 TD-INT ratio.

Now, all eyes are on Polite as he heads into his senior season. Polite has received lots of FBS interest but no offers yet. Texas, Texas A&M and SMU are on his list, as well as some out-of-state programs. He also returns with a key offensive contributer -- wide receiver Cameron White, who is pledged out to TCU but is still taking official visits. Those two combined have the potential to be very, very dangerous in a wide open passing game like 7-on-7.

Polite’s next action will be in the summer 7-on-7 season, which begins in late May. The 7-on-7 state tournament is July 8-10 in College Station.
