7-2A

Jim Ned (L: 42-14, Brady) >> This game was tied up at seven in the first quarter, but a 21-0 run in the second put it out of reach
Colorado City (L: 52-23, Comanche) >> See above -- the exact same thing happened in this bi-district game, too
Wall (L: 35-21, San Saba) >> 14-7 halftime lead evaporates as San Saba's ground game rumbles for 28 points in the final two frames

9-2A

Boyd (L: 59-42, Pilot Point) >> Back-and-forth, back-and-forth ... but Boyd's upset dies as Pilot Point's Jarman Johnson runs for 378 yards and 6 TDs
Jacksboro (L: 46-19, Callisburg) >> Callisburg QB Bobby Dorman is making his case as one of 2A's best, rushing for 274 yards and 3 TDs and throwing for 127 and 2
Millsap (L: 34-7, Aubrey) >> Like the 9-10 bidistrict matchup in 3A, one of the two districts (in this case, 10-2A) has an impossibly elite top three

Malakoff (L: 43-27, Winnsboro) >> Malakoff rebounded from a rough third quarter to close within eight in the fourth, but a big TD from ended all hope
Kerens (L: 29-28, Caddo Mills) >> Pat Faulk and Michael Jordan both have big nights, but Nate Jeffery's 4-TD heroics end Faulk's prolific career
Corsicana Mildred (L: 28-10, Lone Oak) >> An early 14-0 hole, partially courtesy of a INT return for a TD, is too tough to climb back out of

18-2A

White Oak (L: 27-13, Jefferson) >> Jefferson's Clarence Lee rushes for four touchdowns, including a game-clinching one in the fourth quarter
New Diana (L: 68-14, Daingerfield) >> Kind of like playing Gilmer or Carthage in Class 3A ... just too many weapons to try and contain all of them
Harleton (L: 22-8, Linden-Kildare) >> Harleton QB Logan Jones throws for 248 yards, but L-K's rushing game paces it to a victory

20-2A

Franklin (L: 37-0, Arp) >> Franklin can only muster just more than 100 yards and five first downs -- only three yards came via the air
Jewett Leon (L: 62-40, Garrison) >> The two teams combine for nearly 900 yards of offense, but Scooter Ross scores four times for Garrison
Rosebud-Lott (L: 42-6, West Rusk) >> WR picks off four passes, but the real hero was Dominique Smith: he got two INTs, a FR and two passing TDs

Corrigan-Camden (L: 51-28, Kirbyville) >> LeFrederick Ford erupts for 272 yards and two scores on just 14 carries for the win
New Waverly (L: 21-14, Woodville) >> Woodville scores the upset as New Waverly struggles to just 72 offensive yards in the first half
Buffalo (L: 40-3, Newton) >> Newton's third string running back, Jeremy Jackson, rushes for 190 yards and three touchdowns

Navarro (L: 52-21, Comfort) >> Navarro, despite beating Comfort 35-6 earlier in the year, suffers its most lopsided loss in four years
Karnes City (L: 53-0, Blanco) >> Some people left Blanco for dead after the early loss to 3A Canyon Lake, but it's sure hitting its stride now
Poth (L: 56-40, Harper) >> Harper completes the district sweep with an offensive explosion that we didn't see coming

32-2A

San Diego (L: 55-15, George West) >> Cayleb Holt runs for four touchdowns to pace the prolific George West ground game
Riviera Kaufer (L: 14-7, Three Rivers) >> A very narrow victory for a Three Rivers squad that was predicted to win easily
Hebbronville (L: 14-10, Dilley) >> Dilley, courtesy of a 14-0 second half, tops Hebbronville in the playoffs for the second year in a row

2A districts we almost lost

2-2A

Muleshoe (L: 25-21, Amarillo River Road) >> The biggest upset in Texas was forged by a River Road defense that forced five turnovers (4 INTs)
Floydada (L: 48-6, Bushland) >> Bushland scored the first six times it had possession, and after that, it was all the defense would need
Friona (W: 44-7, Sanford-Fritch) >> Friona's Zack Fair rushes for a touchdown and returns an INT for another in the first to set the tone

4-2A

Alpine (L: 29-12, Littlefield) >> Littlefield finishes the game on a 14-0 run that ends Dominic Scott's prolific season at 42 touchdown passes
Sonora (L: 35-28, Post) >> Things were tied up at halftime, and Sonora had the ball late with a chance to tie it up, but the final drive withers out
Crane (W: 14-7 2OT, Idalou) >> It took two overtimes for Crane to keep its district alive, and defensive INTs in both OTs wins it

5-2A

Bowie (L: 35-32, Merkel) >> Bowie led 24-7 in the third quarter, but Merkel's Frankie Harris rushes for 247 and five touchdowns to win it
Henrietta (W: 49-28, Eastland) >> Turns out that, like we've been told all season long, that Henrietta really was the best team from 5-2A
Holliday (L: 41-40 OT, Cisco) >> Holliday scores final 13 of game to force OT, but a missed PAT (and a converted one for Cisco) is the finale

12-2A

Hooks (L: 28-0, Gunter) >> Chad Tucker rushes for 238 yards for Gunter and the defense obviously does its part to keep unbeaten season alive
Pattonville Prairiland (L: 7-6, Melissa) >> Prairiland QB Payne Schuelke leaves the field in an ambulance with a leg injury early on
Paul Pewitt (W: 21-14, Leonard) >> Jordan McFarland makes a game-saving interception at his own 10-yard line on the game's final play

16-2A

Troy (L: 34-0, Godley) >> Troy was more than talented enough to be a state semifinalist, but drawing Godley in the first round is tough
Crawford (L: 35-14, Grandview) >> Crawford was tied, 7-7, at the end of the first quarter, but a 14-0 run in the second gave Grandview a cushion
Maypearl (L: 31-10, McGregor) >> Keith Reineke scores twice in the first and Julian Young twice in the third to put McGregor in front

25-2A

Lago Vista (L: 21-14 OT, Hempstead) >> Lago Vista's first district title season ends in overtime as its tying drive comes up short on fourth down
Rogers (W: 28-14, Weimar) >> Rogers' run game showed up, as expected, but the Weimar offense fizzled a bit in the first round
Lexington (L: 21-11, Altair Rice) >> Altair Rice topples Lexington for the second time this season

30-2A

Taft (L: 49-35, Hitchcock) >> Hitchcock scores 14 points in the first, second and third quarters to jump out to big-time lead
Odem (L: 21-7, Vanderbilt Industrial) >> This game was closer than it looks, as things were still tied up, 7-7, at halftime
Refugio (W: 69-20, Boling) >> Terrence Smith was highly efficient for Refugio, scoring four touchdowns on just six touches
