Class 5A: Katy Cinco RanchIt was a night of firsts for the Cinco Ranch Cougars. The 27-21 overtime win over defending state champion Katy High marked the school's first-ever win over their cross-town rivals. It also marked Cinco Ranch’s first-ever district title in football.
Class 4A: Rockwall-HeathThe Hawks won the District 10-4A battle of the unbeatens by defeating Highland Park in a 38-31 thriller. The win snapped Highland Park’s 47-regular-season-game winning streak.
Class 3A: LorenaThe Leopards' road to the 2008 playoffs required a win over District 19-3A front-runner Waco La Vega. Lorena got it done the hard way with a 20-13 upset.
Class 2A: MoodyThe Bearcats shocked the 28-point-favorite Crawford Pirates 27-13. The win keeps knocked Crawford  a 2007 regional quarterfinalist  out of the playoff race.
Class 1A: GrapelandThe Sandies honored their 11 seniors properly on senior night with a 27-20 upset win over Cayuga. The win snares Grapeland a share of the 20-1A district title.
Six-Man: Lamesa KlondikeComing into this season the Klondike Cougars had not won a district game since 2003. Following the 62-44 upset of Loop, Klondike clinched the district’s final playoff spot.
Private Schools: Houston St. John’sThe Mavericks grabbed a little momentum heading into the offseason with a 36-33 win over Dallas Greenhill. It marked their first win of the season and should give them something to build on.
