Mills reassigned at La Porte
Mills reassigned at La Porte
2005-01-06 00:00:00
Below is our latest comprehensive list on Texas high school football coaching changes since the end of the 2004 season, including the unfortunate news of T.J. Mills getting reassigned at 5A La Porte.

Mills, who set a state record by leading 3A Sealy to four straight state championships between 1994-97, led the Bulldogs to a 5-6 mark this past season. Mills was 11-11 in his two seasons at La Porte with two postseason appearances, and 15-15 in his three seasons at Odessa Permian (2000-02) after heading to West Texas from Sealy.

La Porte won five of its last six games this past fall, prior to a bi-district exit in the postseason by Clear Lake, which would advance to the 5A, Div. II semifinals. La Porte's top two offensive performers are returning in 2005: sophomore quarterback Boogie Anagnostou (1,52 yards and 16 TDs) and junior running back DeeWee Davis (745 yards and nine TDs).

Mills, who is reportedly one year away from retirement and was hoping to stay through the '05 season, has a phenomenal career coaching mark of 194-78. He coached at Houston Westbury before building a 3A dynasty at Sealy, which included a stretch of 35 straight victories and a whopping 24 consecutive wins in the postseason.

Below is a comprehensive list of the more than 50 head coaching changes within the past two weeks. (If you are aware of any head coaching changes or would like to report a coaching change, please e-mail us at info@titussportsmarketing.com.)
