Spring football dates

By Dennis Hall / Texas Football ... The weather's getting nicer, and FBS programs around the state are already starting spring practice or getting ready to begin.
Baylor will become the third in-state program to open spring practice when the Bears get started Tuesday. They will join Texas, which has been underway for a couple of weeks, and Rice, which began this week.
All of the other in-state programs will begin spring practice at some time in March, and everybody concludes by the end of April.
Here is a list of spring football dates for each FBS program in the state, along with dates for spring games in parentheses.
Texas: Feb. 22 to April 4 (spring game on April 4)
Rice: March 8 to March 31 (March 27)
Baylor: March 16 to April 10 (April 10)
Texas Tech: March 22 to April 17 (April 17)
Texas A&M: March 23 to April 23 (April 17)
TCU: March 23 to April 15 (April 10)
UNT: March 23 to April 15 (April 11)
UTEP: March 25 to April 24 (April 24)
Houston: March 27 to April 22 (April 24)
SMU: March 29 to April 24 (no spring game)
