Ore City on Friday made things official with the hiring of Tatum offensive coordinator Jeremy Kubiak as the next athletic director/head football coach at Ore City ISD. Kubiak replaces Kyle Adams who led the Rebels to the playoffs in his lone season at the helm, but departed earlier this month to take over just down the road at Union Grove.

Kubiak, a native of Granbury has been in East Texas the past fourteen seasons with the last two spent as the offensive coordinator at Tatum. Prior to that, Kubiak spent twelve seasons as Waskom’s offensive coordinator where he was part of two state championship coaching staffs.

Coach Kubiak has also spent time as an assistant coach at Bloomington, Copperas Cove, Texarkana Pleasant Grove and his native Granbury.

“I’ve wanted to be a athletic director/head football coach ever since I got into coaching, I’ve been close a few times, but we are so excited about this opportunity. Playing Ore City in the past I thought the kids played hard and they had good facilities and I always thought it’d be a good place to coach,” said Kubiak.

“I’ve had friends that have coached here and they’ve said good things about the school as a whole and my kids will be attending school here so that was important. I felt very comfortable with the new superintendent going through the interview process, before I interviewed coaches I know and trust sung her praises. When I interviewed, I really enjoyed the process, the superintendent was straight-forward with me and I really liked that approach from her there was an instant comfort level,” said Kubiak who hopes to get started at Ore City quickly with about a month remaining in the school year.
