TexasFootball.com is proud to partner with the U.S. Army for the Army Strong Team of the Week throughout the Texas high school football season.
Each week, TexasFootball.com and the U.S. Army join together to select one team from every classification in high school football that demonstrated the qualities exhibited within the Army - those include leadership, commitment to excellence and a desire to make a difference as a member of a team. Each is awarded the Army Strong Team of the Week by local officials from the U.S. Army at a school assembly or pep rally.
5A: Fort Bend Hightower
Riding big contributions from QB Bralon Addison, RB Jaquinn Henderson and RB Joshua Wilhite, the Hurricanes blew past defending state champion Pearland, 35-14, and into the 5A Division I state semifinals.
4A: Corpus Christi Calallen
Fueled by an explosive performance from RB Marcus Price, the Wildcats earned their program's tenth berth in a state semifinal with a 45-15 win over Kerrville Tivy.
3A: Tyler Chapel Hill
Avery Saenz hit Nelson Onwuzu for a 13-yard touchdown pass with just eight seconds remaining to give the Bulldogs a heart-stopping 21-16 win over West Columbia and a spot in the 3A Division I state championship.
2A: Refugio
Edging closer to the national record for points in a season, the Bobcats swarmed Sonora's vaunted defense and earned a spot in the state semifinals with a 41-24 win.
1A: Mason
The Punchers socked it to Shiner, forcing six turnovers in the first half and getting four touchdown runs from David Mora to take down Shiner, 55-7 in the Class 1A Division I state quarterfinal.
6M: Throckmorton
The Greyhounds used a big defensive effort in the second half to pull away from Abbott for a 78-52 victory in the Six-Man Division I state semifinals.
