Another of the features that you can find in this year's Winter Edition of Dave Campbell's Texas Football are unit grades. That's to say, we went through and graded every facet of both the offense and defense for all 10 of the FBS colleges in Texas in 2011.
On defense, we assigned letter grades for the defensive line, linebackers, secondary and special teams. On offense, the grades went to the offensive line, quarterbacks, running backs and receivers.
And, well, it's hard to talk about offense in the state of Texas without bringing up Baylor, one of the most impressive offensive juggernauts to hit the Lone Star State in the last 50 years. Still, we had to hand out grades to each part of the offense, and I've been authorized to reveal Baylor's offensive grades to you, our loyal readers.
Offensive Line: A+
10th in the nation in rushing offense? Hard to blame anything on the hogmollies up front.
Quarterbacks: A+
Robert Griffin III won the Heisman Trophy. That is my response to that question.
Running Backs: A+
Terrance Ganaway was overshadowed by RG3, but he ran for over 1,500 yards and 21 touchdowns, including a masterful performance in the Alamo Bowl.
Wide Receivers: A+
RG3 doesn't win the Heisman without outstanding years from Kendall Wright, Terrance Williams and Tevin Reese.
